At St. Demetrios, we have an impressive core of very productive prayer shawl and scarf knitters, as well as many who knit slowly and steadily. Those who can, meet bimonthly for fellowship at St. Demetrios, 1 to 3 PM on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Our "stock" had been growing to the point where we needed our own space for storage. Problem solved thanks to a gift from John and Debby Morakis of the former bookstore display case. And in the last month, our stock has been "flying off the shelves." In answer to a request from a missionary in Albania, 6 shawls were packed up and sent to the Orthodox Mission there. And last week 9 "designer" scarves, and 3 beautiful shawls were delivered to residents of our Philoxenia House where we shared a cup of tea and had a tour of that remarkable Christ-focused facility. A prayer shawl is something that money can't buy. Please let us know when someone you know needs one.
